Well it's been a great past few weeks for the gals. Author and poker player Victoria Coren took down first place at the EPT Main Event in London. Vanessa Rousso took down the $5K No Limit Hold'em Event at the Borgata Open earlier this month. Mary Jones, 2006 WSOP Ladies champ won the $500 No Limit Hold'em event at the US Poker Championship. And Angel Word (pictured) won the $500 No Limit Hold'em Event at the WSOP Circuit tournament at the Grand Casino yesterday.
I also noticed that there are still two women left in the Aruba Classic. They have made the money and have about 30 players left. JJ Liu and Beverly Cheney are both still in the hunt. Good luck, gals.

I was at Angel's table when we were down to about 50 players and my friend John made the final table with her. She played very well; especially the squeeze play she pulled at the final table against "Ratchet" and Scott.

No doubt more and more female players are making a mark on the poker scene, recently Sandra Naujoks won the EPT in Dortmund http://blog.pokerte.com/2009/03/ept-dortmund-stellar-victory-for-shootingstar/ and more is sure to follow for this young star.
