As the main event begins, BCP will continue to profile some of the talented women to watch in the field.
At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Liz Lieu was an "unknown" in tournament poker, but that changed by the end of the very first open event. Liz Lieu made the final table of the $1500 NLHE event and finished in 5th place. Lieu would cash two more times in the 2005 WSOP, including a 12th place finish in the $5K NLHE event. For the high limit cash game player, it was a great baptism into the tournament side of poker.
Since Liz Lieu is such a successful cash game player, it's sometimes a tough decision for her to dedicate time away from the ring games to play tournaments. She actually played a lighter WSOP schedule this year than she had planned because of the great action over at the Bellagio. But Liz will definitely be playing her Day One of the WSOP main event today.
